Located in downtown Moab at 400 North and 100 West, is a 7-acre park with a large playground, two barbecue grills, covered picnic tables, a covered gazebo, lots of wide open green space and big, old shade trees. The park is named for former Moab resident Swanny Kirby who originally owned the land. In earlier years, before being acquired by the City, the park was used as a rodeo ground and fairground. Swanny City Park is the location of Moab's Recreation and Aquatic Center and Skate Park. There are public restrooms and drinking fountains. Swanny City Park cannot be rented for private events. Special events held at Swanny City Park require permits and fees. For information contact the Moab City Special Event Facilitator or call 435-259-5121.
