Work underway on Mill Creek Drive Water Improvements Project

Caution-sign

Work has begun on the Mill Creek Drive water improvements project. The project will primarily impact the 1.5-mile stretch of Mill Creek Drive between 400 East and the Pack Creek Bridge near Murphy Lane, as well as a short portion of 400 East and Powerhouse Lane. This project consists of replacing approximately 12,000 feet of old water main pipe and re-establishing all existing system water main and service lateral connections. It also includes improvements to fire flow protections by replacing and adding fire hydrants along the project alignment.

The City of Moab’s construction contractor, Harrison Field Services, will work with staff to keep traffic flowing as regularly as possible, although lane reductions will be necessary to accommodate trenching operations. Flaggers or temporary signals will be utilized to control traffic in the construction zones.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes if possible. For through-traffic, the principal alternative route is U.S. 191.

Work hours will typically be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work is expected to begin in mid-October and to last through May.
