The City of Moab recently changed to new financial and billing software. During that process we encountered a few minor problems with utility billing and a delay in the issuance of new business licenses.
For questions or help with your billing or business license please contact the Treasurer’s Office at 435-259-5123.
Utility Billing Issues
- Past due notices mailed in June may reflect incorrect amounts due because the most recent billing amount was added to the past due amount. We will work with all customers to sort out their total past due amount owed.
- Account numbers for all customers have been changed to fit the format of the new billing system. Customers who pay in person, by bank bill pay, or by mail will need to include their new account number on the check so the payment can be properly applied. Account numbers were automatically updated for customers who pay online through our website using Xpress Bill Pay.
- Automatic monthly payments set up through the City's online XPress bill pay are not affected.
- Due to the software change, bills were not sent out this month until June 2 and should arrive in mailboxes soon.
- New bills now use pink and blue ink on white postcards. We made this change to help customers identify their bills when they arrive.
- Paperless billing customers will receive a printed statement in the mail this month but paperless billing will resume in July.
Business License Issues
Currently, our business licensing software module is not yet online. Applications for new business licenses have been approved and those businesses are legal to operate but the business license cannot yet be created. These licenses for new businesses will be mailed to customers as soon as the software is up and running.
Thank you for your patience as we resolve these problems. We sincerely appreciate your willingness to work with us.
