NOTICE OF ELECTION
Proposition 8 to be voted on in the Grand County General Election on
November 3, 2020
Grand County, Utah will hold a general election on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
The Moab City Council voted on June 9, 2020, to put an opinion question on the ballot for the 2020 Grand County General Election. This opinion question will be voted on only by voters residing within the Moab City limits. The proposition to be voted on in the election is Proposition 8, the Recreation, Arts & Parks (RAP) Tax, which is to impose a .1% Sales and Use Tax to fund cultural facilities, recreational facilities, and zoological facilities and botanical organizations, cultural organizations, and zoological organizations in the City. A copy of the voter information pamphlet can be downloaded on the Public Notice website, from the City of Moab website, or picked up at City offices during normal office hours.
Grand County will be conducting the election primarily BY-MAIL. Ballots will be mailed October 13, 2020 and must be postmarked no later than November 2, 2020. A sample ballot can be downloaded on the Utah Public Notice website and from our website.
Registered voters may also vote in-person or submit their ballot at the Grand County Clerk’s Office at 125 E. Center Street on October 28, October 29, October 30, and November 2 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Ballot drop off and in-person voting may be done at the Grand County Clerk’s Office on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, from 7:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Ballots may be placed in the drop box location in the West Entrance of the Courthouse, by the Grand County Clerk’s Office, from October 19, 2020, through October 30, 2020. On November 2, 2020, the ballot drop box will be located on the front lawn of the Grand County Courthouse from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (weather permitting – in case of inclement weather the ballot box will be moved inside). On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, the ballot drop box will be located on the front lawn of the Grand County Courthouse from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (weather permitting – in case of inclement weather the ballot box will be moved inside).
