[ARCHIVED] Temporary Traffic Control Changes to Begin on Uranium Avenue, 100 East on Aug. 19

Uranium Avenue-100 East Temporary Travel Changes -- for website

As construction is scheduled to begin on the new Grand County Middle School on 100 East and the Radcliffe Hotel on Uranium Avenue, traffic control measures will be put in place this week to ensure the safety of drivers, pedestrians and students.

Beginning Aug. 9, temporary travel restrictions will be in effect on Uranium Avenue, south of City Market, and 100 East in front of the middle school.

Roadways will be marked to direct traffic using both streets.

The following traffic control measures will be in effect:

Uranium Avenue (just south of City Market) will become a

One-way eastbound street from Main Street to 100 East.

100 East will be one-way northbound from Uranium to Grand Avenue.

Two-way travel will remain on the section of 100 East from Grand Avenue to 300 South.

The south entrance to the parking lot at City Market will be closed to all traffic.

Parents of middle school students will use a drop-off area on 100 East in front of the school. The curb will be marked for this purpose.

The changes are necessary due to expected heavy truck and equipment traffic during the concurrent construction of the new middle school and the hotel.

These changes are expected to be necessary for up to two years, while construction for both projects is ongoing.
