City of Moab Fireworks Restrictions 2019-Website

Due to dry conditions and the enhanced risk of fire, the City of Moab has banned the use of all fireworks on parkways, public trails and pedestrian paths within City limits as well as over or within 200 feet of Pack Creek or Mill Creek and within 20 feet of any residence, building, structure or combustible material. Please help protect yourself and your neighborhood by respecting the fireworks ban.

The use of state-legal fireworks will be allowed at the Center Street ball fields across from Moab City Hall.

According to Utah State Code, fireworks may be discharged during the following dates, between the hours of 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., unless otherwise noted:

  • July 2 to July 5 (discharge hours extended to midnight on July 4)
  • July 22 to July 25 (discharge hours extended to midnight on July 24)
  • December 31 (discharge hours extended to 1 a.m. on January 1)
  • Chinese New Year's Eve (discharge hours extended to 1 a.m. the following day)
