The Mill Creek Community Collaborative (MCCC) is a group of Moab locals, agency representatives, and canyon users working collaboratively to develop recommendations to address impacts from increasing recreational use in Mill Creek Canyon. MCCC is seeking your input.
The MCCC wants to understand what Moab residents and visitors value most about Mill Creek, and created a survey to help gather this information. The Mill Creek Canyon Community Survey is now open and can be accessed here: Mill Creek Survey.
The survey seeks information about how people use the canyon, what values are most important to them, concerns about the canyon or impacts from use, and ideas or solutions related to issues such as access, trash, parking, impact to residents, or other concerns. The information gathered will be used to develop management recommendations to improve Mill Creek Canyon.
The MCCC includes representatives from Moab City, Grand County, BLM, SITLA, Moab Valley Fire District, Grand County Search and Rescue, Moab Solutions, Rim to Rim Restoration, and other groups and individuals with an interest in Mill Creek. The vision of the MCCC is to:
“Collaboratively address impacts from increasing recreational use in Mill Creek Canyon by providing access to a quality experience for canyon visitors in a way that protects the natural and cultural resources of Moab’s backyard and addresses impacts to nearby neighborhoods.”
There will be future opportunities for the public to learn the results of the survey and to provide feedback on Mill Creek. Information will be updated on the MCCC website bit.ly/MillCreekCC and on the MCCC Facebook page bit.ly/MCCCFacebook
