Wastewater TREATMENT & Reclamation
Wastewater treatment is critical in any community. Moab built a new state-of-the-art wastewater reclamation facility in 2019. The new facility replaced the City’s more than 60-year-old sewer treatment plant.
The new wastewater reclamation facility has a total hydraulic capacity of 1.75 million gallons per day and can process significantly more effluent using far less water.
Solar panels have been installed on the administration building at the facility to add energy efficiency to the offices. The City will also install a larger array of solar panels to help offset a portion of the plant’s energy use.
FACILITY TOURS
Tours of the wastewater reclamation facility are welcome and it is a fascinating study in what happens to everything we flush down the sewer system. To arrange for a tour call the Wastewater Reclamation Facility Superintendent or his assistant at 435-259-5577.
