Sewer

REPORTING a sewer problem

  • For sewer overflows or backups from the sewer main to your house, call Public Works at 435-259-7485.
  • After-hour emergency calls can be directed to the Sheriff's Department at 435-259-8115.

Citizens in Moab are financially responsible for maintenance and repairs from the city sewer main to their house, even if their service line crosses into city right of way to connect to the city mains.

Grease Trap Inspection and Maintenance

A grease trap (also known as grease interceptor) is a plumbing device--a type of trap) designed to intercept most greases and solids at restaurants and other food handling establishments before they enter a wastewater disposal system. These reduce the fats, oils and greases (FOGs) that enter sewer systems.

Moab City Code tasks the Sewer Department with inspection and enforcement of regulations governing grease trap maintenance in food establishments located within the city.
