Moab City Recreation
Programs
The City of Moab Recreation Department is one of the busiest divisions of the City. When you consider that Moab experiences about 300 days of sunshine a year, it's easy to understand why recreation is important to local folks. The City of Moab has historically been a leader in providing recreation opportunities for children and adults.
Sports and recreation programs include flag and tackle football, indoor and outdoor soccer, middle school basketball, Junior Jazz basketball, youth and middle school volleyball, youth baseball, softball and tee-ball, adult slow-pitch softball, adult volleyball and basketball, adult flag football, swimming, BMX bike racing, and skiing.

Historic Sports Fields
The city-owned baseball fields are located at Center Street and 100 North in the heart of old Moab, surrounded by historic homes and structures dating back to 1902. The fields are always buzzing with activity. Whether it's youth running tackle in the fall, or co-ed softball teams hitting home runs in August, recreation is an important part of life in Moab.
Center Street Gym
Located at 203 East Center Street, the City-owned Center Street Gym provides a place for the community to enjoy a variety of sports opportunities including pickleball, volleyball, basketball and indoor soccer. The gym also has a multi-purpose room available for rent.
The Gym is part of the Center Street recreational complex that includes the City-owned ball fields and Sun Court outdoor basketball courts and pocket park, all located on East Center Street.

Aquatic and Fitness Center
The Moab Aquatic and Fitness Center’s mission is to enhance our community by providing a facility that promotes health and wellness and accommodates the needs of a broad range of users for many generations to come. Located at 374 North Park Avenue in Swanny City Park, the aquatic center features both indoor and outdoor pools, and a variety of swim lessons and classes. The fitness center offers a range of fitness options including workout equipment, fitness and wellness classes, and personal training.

Special Events
The Recreation Department also coordinates community events such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Turkey Trot 5k Run, and a variety of youth and adult tournaments.
Employment Opportunities
The Recreation Department is a great opportunity for seasonal employment. There are positions for coaches, umpires, lifeguards, part-time instructors, and other recreation-related activities.
