General Policies
The MRAC is a facility operating for the benefit of the Moab and Grand County Community. We hope that patrons of the facility will join our staff in promoting a welcoming, pleasant and safe recreational environment. Patrons are asked to use their best judgment in choosing their actions, clothing and language while being sensitive to the message that they deliver to other patrons. Respecting the rights of others and good sportsmanship are requirements of enjoying the facility and the behavior of a single patron must not disrupt the experience of others. All problems should be reported immediately to MRAC staff.
Both rules and policies are available on the website or in paper form upon request. The authority to enforce these policies is vested in the MRAC staff and administrative personnel responsible for the facilities and programs. Violations of rules, malicious use or defacing of property, solicitation, verbal abuse, or other violations of the MRAC will not be tolerated. The MRAC administrative staff reserves the right to make discretionary disciplinary action depending on the circumstances which may include suspension or revoking patron privileges. Patron disciplinary policies will be enforced.
Access to the Center
Upon entering the MRAC, all patrons are required to check in at the Front Desk and have their membership ID card scanned in order to gain admittance. A daily pass may be purchased for those who do not have a membership. All members are required to have their membership ID card or other form of ID available.
Age Restrictions
Children under the age of 6 must be directly supervised, at all times, by an individual 14 years or older unless participating in a qualifying MRAC program. The adult must always be within arms length of the child. Children between the ages of 6 and 10 must be appropriately supervised by an individual 14 years or older unless participating in a qualifying MRAC program. The supervising individual may not leave the child alone within the facility. Children over the age of 10 may enter the facility independently. Any individual who lacks the ability to swim the width of the pool may not enter water above their chest.
Swim Diapers
UTAH LAW REQUIRES that children under 3 years of age and children who are not toilet-trained wear swim diapers AND plastic pants. Please, no exceptions. When the pool has to be shut down for treatment following an "accident", it deprives everyone the use of the pool. This is particularly inconvenient when there is only one pool in use. Please respect other users and properly prepare your child for swimming.
Unacceptable Conduct
Discipline is necessary when any patron exhibits unacceptable conduct. Some examples of unacceptable conduct are:
Abuse or intentional misuse of MRAC equipment and/or properties
Abusive or foul language
Activity inappropriate for a family oriented public facility
Disregarding MRAC rules and policies
Engaging in dangerous activity
Fighting or threatening harm to others
Lack of respect for the MRAC staff; i.e., ignored request, intimidation, threats, physical threats, etc.
Lack of respect for other members and/or patrons
Misuse of an MRAC membership ID card
Non-payment of MRAC membership, program or service fees
Sexual harassment
Solicitation
Theft
Use of alcohol, non-prescription drugs, tobacco
Vandalism
Patron Suspension
Suspension for unacceptable conduct will be decided by MRAC Management on a case-by-case basis. The nature and seriousness of the offense will determine the suspension. Refunds will not be granted for suspensions due to disciplinary problems.
